Eastern Lightning|I Prostrated Myself Before Almighty God to Confess My Sin

Wu Xun

Nanyang City, Henan Province

I was formerly a co-worker in the “Praise Church.” After turning to the Lord Jesus in 1988, I pursued zealously. Whenever something happened in the church, I would run in front. Gradually I won a good reputation of being an “Old Faithful.” However, I, an “Old Faithful,” became a thorough antichrist when God’s salvation of the last days came upon me. Whenever I think of that, I feel extremely ashamed and remorseful…

It was a day in February, 1998. In a co-workers’ meeting, our leader said, “Now there is a sect called the ‘Eastern Lightning.’ They preach that the Lord has come back and done a new salvation work. It is a typical heresy and cult! They seduce men with beautiful women and commit adultery. Once you listen to their way, you’ll be captivated. Once you join them, you can’t withdraw. If you listen to their way but don’t accept it, they will gouge out your eyes, cut off your ears, or break your arms or legs, and even your whole family will be in danger of being killed. From now on, once you see the people of the ‘Eastern Lightning,’ drive them away, and once you see their books, tear them…” Then, he took out three booklets against Almighty God: Curfew, Resist the Heresy—the Eastern Lightning, Refutation of the Errors of the Seven Spirits Sect. He asked us to copy the words down and spread them in the churches. After hearing the leader’s words and reading the booklets, I believed them to be true and began to despise and hate the people of the “Eastern Lightning.” I thought, “After I go back, I will take strict precautions to protect the flock. I will be irreconcilable with the ‘Eastern Lightning.’”

After I went back to the church, I immediately hammered the leader’s words and the words in the booklets into the brothers and sisters and also led them to pray to curse the “Eastern Lightning,” asking the Lord to stop its steps, demolish all its work, and punish its followers… I also made a rule in the church: No one is allowed to receive strangers. If they come, drive them away; if they don’t leave, call “110,” and never be soft on them.

Once when we were having a meeting, a sister who preached God’s new work came to the host family. I shouted to her in the courtyard, “This is my territory. Leave quickly! Or I’ll call ‘110’ to arrest you! …” After driving her away, I made up lies to frighten the brothers and sisters, “Once you listen to the words of the ‘Eastern Lightning’ preachers, you’ll be poisoned. You don’t know the Bible and are easy to be deceived. So better leave the sheep starving to death than let them eat poisoned grass! …” Continue reading

Eastern Lightning|I, Arrogant and Ignorant, Have Finally Become Subject Before the True God

Zhang Xuejun

Nehe City, Heilongjiang Province

I was formerly a co-worker of the Cross Church. After I turned to the Lord, I received a lot of grace. Because of that, I was very zealous in my pursuit and made a resolution before the Lord that I would serve him all my life. Only two years later, I began to preach and often went to other counties to support the churches. At that time, I felt that believing in the Lord was so wonderful and so meaningful.

In the spring of 1997, somehow the churches fell into desolation. The believers’ faith and love grew cold. They intrigued against each other, deceived each other, and complied with each other in public but opposed each other in private. Among them, worldly philosophies of life became increasingly prevalent. The church had become no different from the world. I also became cold in the pursuit of loving the Lord and no longer wanted to go to other counties to work. At that time, my leader came back from studying in Wenzhou City and told me, “Now, there’s a gang of people preaching ‘the Eastern Lightning.’ They’re especially capable of deceiving people. If you don’t accept their way, they will cripple you. This gang of people are real ‘heretics’ and ‘cultists.’ You should guard the flock properly so that they can’t steal the sheep. Don’t let down the leaders above.” Hearing that, I thought to myself, “So, this gang of people are not believers in the Lord. If I come across them, I must teach them a lesson.” From then on, I began to be busy.

One day in July 1997, Brother Zhang in our church called me and said, “Someone has come to Sister Liu’s home to preach ‘the Eastern Lightning.’” Hearing that, I immediately made a call to Sister Liu: “You stall him first. I’ll be there in a minute.” Then, I hastily went to Sister Liu’s home with two co-workers by taxi. As soon as I stepped into the room, I saw a brother fellowshipping with Sister Liu. Without saying a word, I rushed up to him, grabbed his clothes, and roared at him, “You devils deceive people everywhere. And today you want to capture sheep from our church. Scram! What you preach is not the gospel, but a ‘heresy,’ a ‘cult,’ which leads people away from the true way.” “Please let go. Let’s have a fellowship, and you’ll understand,” the brother said calmly. “There’s nothing to fellowship with you. Go away now. If you come to the homes of the brothers and sisters in our church again, I won’t be so easy on you!” I shouted angrily and drove him out.

One month later, I heard that a person of “the Eastern Lightning” had come to a brother’s home. I hurried there with a co-worker and saw that it was that same brother whom we saw at Sister Liu’s home. Before the brother spoke, the co-worker who came with me bawled at him, “You are such a deceiver!” As he said that, he punched the brother hard in the face. Immediately, blood ran out from his nose. However, he got neither angry nor annoyed, and even less did he blame us. Instead, he said, “I can understand your feelings, but I hope you don’t get angry. Calm down and let’s have a fellowship about the Lord’s coming.” “Stop your nonsense. Go away now. If you come to our church again, we will break your legs!” As I said that, I hustled him out of the door. Later, when the leader above learned it, he kept complimenting me, saying that I was a good, faithful, and sensible steward. Receiving the leader’s compliment, I became even more enthusiastic about resisting “the Eastern Lightning.” I “guarded” the flock day and night, for fear that people of “the Eastern Lightning” would come and steal the sheep. I sealed the churches everywhere, telling the brothers and sisters that no one was allowed to receive strangers without my permission and that whoever did so would be expelled. I also said that if any people of “the Eastern Lightning” came, they should call the police. Even so, I still could not set my mind at rest. Then I printed the booklet that slandered “the Eastern Lightning”—The Sound of the Trumpet in the Church, and distributed it to all the churches so that everyone would reject “the Eastern Lightning.” At the same time, I also made a resolution to myself: Even if I was the only one left in the church in the end, I would not believe in “the Eastern Lightning.” Continue reading

Eastern Lightning|Returning Justice to the Truth

Pan Jie        Taiyuan City, Shaanxi Province

I was formerly an elder of the Local Church. Because I held on to my arrogant and erroneous views and because I was deceived by the rumors, I developed a great hatred for the Almighty God and collected materials to attack the work of God many times. However, God did not remember my monstrous sins, but spared me with his great patience and love and led me onto the right path of human life. Thinking back to what I did in the past, I feel extremely ashamed, regretful, and grieved, and abhor myself for being so conscienceless and treasonous. Even if I dedicate my life today, I cannot repay the almighty true God’s salvation. In order that more brothers and sisters who are deceived by the rumors can turn to the Almighty God as soon as possible, here I am willing to truly “expose” my evil deeds of resisting God, so as to return justice to the truth.

In December 1997, when I was in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, I received a letter from my family unexpectedly. It said, “On the evening of the fourteenth when we were having a meeting, in came old Sister Wang of our church together with several unfamiliar sisters. At first we didn’t know they were of ‘the Eastern Lightning,’ but when they spoke, they showed their true colors. They said that Jesus had already returned on the white cloud, with the name of the Almighty God and as a female. They also said that the Bible was outdated and asked us to read their book, The Word Appears in the Flesh. …” After I read the letter, a wave of anger surged up in my heart. “I have heard that this ‘cult’ is best at deceiving people. If anyone doesn’t believe in their God, they will cut off his ears, gouge out his eyes, or break his legs. I have never thought that this heresy or cult should have been preached to our church today. ‘When a wolf comes, the shepherd has the duty to protect the flock.’ I have to hurry home to seal the church, set it in order, and eliminate the poisonous influences of ‘the Eastern Lightning.’ This is the crucial time the Lord Jesus tests me and is also the time for me to be faithful to him and dedicate my love to him!” Thinking of that, I “devoutly” bowed my head and prayed to Jesus Christ, “O loving Savior! We expect you to come on the white cloud every day, but why does there appear a female christ who comes not on the white cloud? He who comes not on the white cloud is false and is counterfeit. Lord! Curse those people of ‘the Eastern Lightning’ and protect your pure church. …”

On the morning of December 17, I could not wait to take a train back home. When I got home, the first thing I did was to find out the details of “the Eastern Lightning” disturbing our church and ask for the whereabouts of those three women who were driven out of the church that night. I was determined to investigate “the Eastern Lightning” thoroughly and destroy its “base.” At that time, Sister Li of our church vividly told me in detail about what had happened after those three were driven out of the church. She said, “After they were driven out of the church by us, they sneaked into Sister Xiao’s home. Learning that, we got very angry. So we seven or eight people went to Xiao’s home together. At that time, it was about twelve o’clock at night. They had all gone to bed, and the door was propped shut with a stick. Brother Jiao ‘loved’ the Lord very much. Even though he was over seventy, he kicked the door open with a crash. Then we swarmed into the room. I turned on the light, and saw the three in their underwear. We rushed at them recklessly and pulled them off the kang. But they were quite obstinate and did not beg us for mercy. Brother Jiao poked their noses with his finger and burst out, ‘Cheek! You are satans and devils. What you preach is heresy. You are fierce wolves in sheep’s clothing.’ They were all thick-skinned and simply refused to say a word. However, I saw that their eyes reddened a bit and their tears almost fell. Pooh! Satans also could cry. Who would pity them? Who would feel sympathy for them? They got what they deserved. They shouldn’t have preached ‘the Eastern Lightning’ at such a young age. …” At this, I sighed with emotion: “I really admire Brother Jiao for his ‘absolute sincerity’ and ‘faithfulness’ to Jesus and his being able to stand the testimony for the Lord at the crucial moment. It’s really hard to find such a person who loves the Lord so much. Our church needs more people like him.” At this moment, I could not but feel very proud that our church had such a person.

“What happened then?” I asked eagerly.

“Brother Jiao’s anger was still not slaked after he cursed them. Thus he roared at them, ‘Get out! You satans and devils, get out!’ We echoed his words loudly. So, they had no choice but to leave in tears. …”

Eastern Lightning|The CCP Is the Mastermind Behind the 8.28 Protest

At 9 a.m. on August 28, 2016, Wu, a representative of some religious website in South Korea, Tian, from China, as well as some other people, staged a protest at the gate of the Church of Almighty God in Guro, Seoul. During the protest, Wu instructed Tian and her son to cry at the gate, and let the reporter take photos of the scenes. They also tried several times to force into the church. Tian is the wife of Zhang, who is a Christian of the Church of Almighty God, and fled from China to Korea in 2015 due to the frenzied oppression and persecution of the CCP government. The reason Tian and Wu claimed to make this protest was: The Church of Almighty God took control of Zhang and forced him to perform duty in South Korea, which thus wrecked Tian’s family. So they demanded that the Church of Almighty God let go of Zhang.

The excesses of Wu, Tian and her son were stopped by the police who arrived later. The police told Tian and Wu that Tian’s husband, Zhang, had already gone to the police station, and proclaimed that he was free and in no way controlled by the Church of Almighty God. Rather, Zhang was afraid that his wife, together with the CCP police, would jointly carry him off to China, so he determined not to see his wife, Tian, and turned to the Korean police to ensure his security. During the explanation, the police also showed a photo of Zhang and them to Tian and Wu. Seeing their fabrication exposed that the Church of Almighty God took control of Zhang, Tian and Wu left in a hurry. Up to this point, many people may feel confused: Tian took great pains to search for her husband, why was she so slighted? A couple’s reunion which was meant to be happy, why did the husband take it as a great scourge? Wu, a representative of a religious website in South Korea, was a perfect stranger to Tian, an atheist from China, so how did they unite in such a short time? What is the dark secret behind Tian’s search for her husband? Along with my investigation and research, the truth of the incident gradually rose to the surface.

The CCP Is the Mastermind Behind the 8.28 Protest

Tian comes from Hebei Province, China. She is an ordinary staff member of some company in Mainland China. She got married to Zhang in 2007, and they had a son after marriage. Tian knew well Zhang’s belief in Almighty God before their marriage, and she did not interfere with his belief at that time. Since 2012, the CCP has intensified its crackdown on Christianity. It wildly suppressed and arrested the Christians of the Church of Almighty God, and took advantage of various media, like newspapers, television, the Internet, etc, to slander and condemn the Church of Almighty God in a rampant way. Tian then believed the rumors of the CCP and began to hinder her husband from believing in God. She even took excesses of shadowing, calling the police, committing suicide, and so on, to intimidate her husband into abandoning his belief, which made Zhang extremely oppressed and painful. At the end of 2014, Brother Xiaolin, who was in the same church with Zhang, was arrested by the CCP. Fearing to be tracked down by the CCP through him, Zhang had no alternative but to flee from China in April, 2015 and sought asylum in South Korea. Then he found the Church of Almighty God in his place and began to perform the duty. Zhang thought he had got away from the CCP’s arrest and persecution, and could enjoy the freedom of worshiping God. He never expected the CCP should come to hunt him in South Korea.

On January 24, 2016, Tian got into contact with Zhang through Korea Ministry of Justice in Jeju Province, and tried to persuade him to go back to China. Zhang explained to Tian that the sole end of his return to China was to be arrested and afflicted by the CCP. Then Tian showed understanding for what he said and returned alone. Unexpectedly, on May 18, Tian should lead the CCP’s plainclothes police to South Korea, and ask to meet Zhang without telling the fact that she came with the police. During their meeting, Tian insisted that Zhang go back to China, and the plainclothes policeman also urged him to return while prying about his performing the duty in South Korea. Meanwhile, Tian dialed the number of Cheng, a Chinese policeman, and handed the phone over to Zhang. Cheng once again advised Zhang to return to China as soon as possible. Only then did Zhang realize that this meeting in Jeju Province had long been hatched by Tian and the CCP police. The next several days, following the instructions of the police, Tian stole the passport and two cellphones of Zhang, and snatched the only 700,000 won on him. She clamored that she would rather allow her husband to be disabled and imprisoned by the CCP than have him stay here. In helplessness, Zhang caught his wife’s off guard and escaped from the hotel. However, it was so surprising that the CCP police and Tian tracked Zhang to the airport with the help of the tracking device in an attempt to catch him. Zhang ran desperately and managed to shake them off in the end. After this perilous escape, Zhang was even more sure that his wife had been bribed by the CCP, and that her purpose of this journey was to abduct him to China in collusion with the CCP police! At this point, everyone may understand why Zhang went to the Korea police station and stated his reluctance to see his wife, Tian, and why he turned to the Korean police for the sake of his security. The CCP has stretched its evil hand of persecuting religious belief to South Korea. It wishes to abduct to China all the Christians fleeing here, sentence and imprison them, and vainly attempts to abolish the Church of Almighty God. Tian, however, is nothing but its tool to arrest the Christians of the Church of Almighty God, and she has been totally controlled and used by the CCP. This is apparent to anyone with good sense.
